AACN Region 6 Rising Together in Excellence Conference Highlights

The recent AACN Region Six Critical Care Conference was held in Birmingham, AL, on October 6th and 7th, 2024. The conference was a resounding success, bringing together healthcare professionals, registered nurses, and educators. It featured topics on the latest advancements in critical care and shared best practices.

Conference Highlights

Day One: This day focused on the AACN Healthy Work Environment Standards. During this session leaders from various healthcare organizations shared data from their organization on the Healthy Work Environment Standards. During this session, strategies to improve and implement the Healthy Work Environment Standards were discussed.

Day Two: Keynote experts delivered addresses and sessions covering the latest research and innovations in critical care.  Some key topics include Virtual healthcare, care of patients with chronic medical conditions and obesity, and ScvO2 monitoring.

Attendees participated in the Critical Care Escape Room. This is an innovative and interactive session designed to challenge participants' clinical skills and teamwork in a high-pressure scenario. The team faced a series of clues requiring critical thinking and decision-making collaboration through the clues. This event added an element of excitement to the conference.

The conference was enriched with the presence of numerous vendors who showcased the latest innovations in medical technology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services. Their contributions played a key role in enhancing the conference experience and providing valuable resources to attendees.  We extend our gratitude to al the vendors for their support and participation.
